How the archive works
The daily words change at midnight Eastern Time and come from a fixed list, so every archive page shows exactly the puzzle that was played that day. Today's answer is hidden behind a tap and the hints run from gentle to obvious: the letter pattern first, then the first letter, a dictionary clue, and finally the last letter with a pattern like C _ _ _ E. To play without a daily limit, head to infinite mode; for tactics, read how to play.
Frequently asked questions
Can I play a puzzle I missed?
Yes. Every archive page has a Play button that opens that exact word in infinite mode, before you see any hints. Your daily streak only counts puzzles solved on their own day, though.
Are these the answers to the New York Times puzzle?
No. This is the archive of Infinite Wordplay's own daily puzzles, which use our own word lists. We do not publish answers to other games.
Why is there a puzzle in six lengths every day?
Because five letters is only one way to play. Four letters is quick, six and seven reward vocabulary, and eight and nine letters (with seven guesses) are for people who want a real workout.
